Dragon Ball is and probably always will be my favorite series. I was just an four year old boy when I first had the pleasure of witnessing Dragon Ball on TV. Though I was perhaps too young to understand it, as I got older, I'd eventually move onto Dragon Ball Z. The more I'd aged, the more I grew to love Dragon Ball. I was hooked, and my knowledge of the series was immense. Dragon Ball Super is the continuation and sequel of Dragon Ball Z. The story is quite similar to Z as we see our hero Goku progressively meeting stronger foes and thestakes becoming higher. New elements and characters are introduced such as the Gods. Something that Super has incorporated in this show that sets it apart from Z is character development. The series is also able to incorporate effective drama and genuinely hilarious comedy into its story, the most noteworthy being the action and pure fighting that is reminiscent of Dragon Ball Z. Now there are a few problems with it right at the start. The first two arcs were basically retelling the movies Battle of Gods and Resurrection F. While the animation can occasionally dip into the inexcusable category (I'm looking at you, episode 5 and over half of Golden Frieza arc), the show is never able to dissuade you from watching it due to the action and nostalgia. However, after those two arcs, the animation gets noticeably better. The OSTs and intros are also very nostalgic. But at the end of the day, it is just more Dragon Ball Z. I think it is simply nostalgia surrounding the dragon ball franchise for me that makes you just can't help but want to watch it and enjoy it. I think we can all agree the writing is very bad but the action is absolutely amazing. If you grew up with Dragon Ball or have watched Dragon Ball Z as a kid or early teens, then you will probably enjoy this series!

Dragon Ball Super Review Story (6/10) Fair If you are looking for a great story in Dragon Ball (past the pre-DBZ stuff) in 2018 you are doing it wrong. We all know Akira Toriyama is far from the best when it comes to this department so I never go in looking to have my mind blown by it. But in my opinion at least it never gets to the point where it's completely brain dead stupid that I feel like my intelligence is being directly insulted (like Fairy Tail for example yes shots fired but no one is defending that anime's story anyway). The anime started offgiving us the rehashed and in my opinion an overall inferior version of the Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F', so many were quickly turned off during these two starting arcs and I don't blame them as it has some of the worse art style and animation the series had to offer regardless of the excuses or reasons of it looking the way they did, it should not have been released like that. A few changes like Ginyu making an appearance but nothing significant enough for anyone to say Toei did a better job the second time around with these to arcs in comparison to the movies. The Universe 6 Arc is when the series starts some new worth watching content as we get brand new characters. Although there were a few fights that were good like the Goku vs Hit fight majority of them fell short of what I and majority of the people I talked to after this arc was over expected. The story for this arc was decent and acceptable also especially with the ending introducing Zeno and revealing an even greater force to be reckoned with giving the series promise to where it would go next. The Future Trunks Arc after this was probably in my opinion the best arc in the entire series as it was the only time I personally felt the gave me the nostalgic feeling of actual threat to the characters and story. The execution in this arc I felt was quite good also even though there were a few short comings like the reveal of who Goku Black actually was and the who scheme behind it. Majority of this arc I felt keep it up with the standards that I remember back in the Z days. The final arc in the series The Universal Survival Arc was hyped up as it was hyped up to be a bigger and crazier version of the Universe 6 arc with it's one threat of the multiple universe at stake even though I was technically on a bigger scale of threat compared to the Future Trunks arc I guess since there was so many light heard and joky moments during this arc I never took it too massively serious. A ridiculous amount of build up to this arc, many many characters introduced and a shit ton of good fights. That's all good an all because coming into anything Dragon Ball like I said after Z that's all you are going to really get. Many many good fights happened in this arc definitely the best fights, animation and art style the series had showcased but from a story standpoint once again you shouldn't be expecting much especially from an arc that's basically just a giant Team Battle Royale which lasted basically over 1 year to conclude but 48 minutes in the show (how? idk). Although it didn't (at least to me) feel dragged out I do definitely have my issues with how some characters were handle but I'll mention more about that in the characters section. The Universal Survival Arc overall was a treat for the good fights we got out of it but I wouldn't call this the best arc just because it had the best fights I would give that to the Future Trunks arc. Either way you look at it all of the arcs presented in Super were fair at best and nothing to brag about to say the most. But like I'll say one more time story isn't the reason we watch Dragon Ball as it's not abysmal we fans of Dragon Ball accept it for what it is. (Or should I speak for myself?) Art and Animation (7/10) Good (For the most part) At it's worst (4/10) At it's best (10/10) More Specifically (7.00/10 when you average both of those together) The Beginning of Dragon Ball Super from an animation and art style standpoint I felt was it's biggest thing working against it. Coming out the gate looking look the hottest of garbage is the worst thing you can do for a first impressions for any series. Still to this day I felt it was a poor decision on Toei's part to let such a thing occur for those first few episodes should have been looking spotless, first impressions is extremely important and the result of what happened only proves this statement to be true as many many fans of Dragon Ball dropped it within the first 5 episodes when they saw such a pathetic excuse of art style and animation being showcased and still to this day have not returned to the series and I don't blame them. With all that being said just because the start of the anime was terrible doesn't mean it should be ignored as powerhouse animation directors like Yuya Takahashi and Naotoshi Shida eventually show up and blow everyone's heads off with their effort. Sadly even with their efforts the most the people who dropped the series will do is watch the clips of what they have done on Youtube say "yeah that impressive but that crap at the start of the anime lost me and I can't invest the time to want to get to where ever the hell this is". Good things come to those who wait sure but like I said earlier first impressions are everything now these days especially in anime. And with all that being said overall not taking the worst of the worst or the best of the best from an animation standpoint into more consideration that the other on a regular basis the anime's art style and animation wasn't anything to brag or complain about to be honest and if you take that into consideration if the worst of the worst is averaged in with the best of the best you get the score I came out with which is a solid 7. I personally think it's fair since the best of the best is some of the best I've seen in all of Dragon ball animation and I personally feel it outweighs the worst of the worst this anime has shown. Sound (9/10) Great More Specifically (9.50/10) Great+ The sound for the anime I feel is the best part about it. From the openings to the countless endings, voice acting (JP VA), sound effects and background music I felt they were all great in every department in the sound category. They also did a great job and from the little that I've heard from the English Dub, it sounds like everything is great over there also with some extra flair to it's dialogue script. Characters (6/10) Fair More Specifically (6.50/10) Fair+ The characters in Dragon Ball were always something that was always endearing to me. But sadly over the time majority of the characters has failed to develop, impress or even stay relevant. The old saying in Dragon Ball Z (and even GT for that matter) days were "if you aren't a Saiyan you ain't shit". But now in the days of Dragon Ball Super it's basically "if you ain't Goku you ain't shit". Now we know the ultimate formula of layout of a Dragon Ball Z arcs for the most part goes bad guys show up Vegeta and maybe Piccolo get a fight, a win or two in until they get mopped then Goku shows up and takes it from there. Majority of the time this formula can be seen in all of the movies. When it came to Dragon Ball Super this formula never really is show cased. (And I'm not counting the first two arcs since both of those were movies originally titled with a Z in their names vs a Super). Even though we don't see this predictable by now formula in Super doesn't mean it's for the better or worse as changing from it only showcased it's pro and cons. One Pro is that since it isn't following that formula, it's hard to predict exactly will happen next, which is good to some degree. The cons show themselves a bit differently as each arc has it's new narrative content but from a story standpoint based on what the characters decided to do they have lead the story down such inconsistencies or disappointments that are shown though out each arc. Like I said I don't really care about high quality story telling when it comes to Dragon Ball and to tell high quality story telling in and story you must also have a high quality/well written characters to coincide the high quality story telling one can say they must go hand in hand. With that being said we all know characters in the Dragon Ball Universe aren't that impressive but we can agree that the characters are better and more interesting than the story they exist within right? (or am I alone on that statement also? anyway..). Either way I'm not going to break down the issues I have with every single character that I thought had an issue with new or old that Super has showcased as this section is already long enough for you to understand where I'm coming from. But what I will do is a quick run down ok?... and... Gohan is a disappointment, Vegeta is still and for ever will be behind Goku (but who isn't?) with Hit and Jiren being the new people pushing Goku farther sadly, Trunks was cool until he left, Hit was awesome until he gets whooped by the hyped up Jiren who's backstory is the most generic backstory I've seen in a hot minute and also get's nerfed 80% of the way thru the arc and ultimately disappoints. Champa was cool tho right? Everyone else isn't worth mentioning even in this short period of time I've given myself. Enjoyment (8/10) Very Good More Specifically (8.50/10) Very Good+ Regardless of everything that bothered me with Dragon Ball Super for the 2-3 years that it aired, I was basically present every single week nonetheless excited to some degree for the next episode it never felt like a chore to watch for me. On top of the fact that there wasn't any manga to be ahead of the anime so more so than often not knowing what was going to occur felt like the good old days of Dragon Ball Z. Will I miss Dragon Ball Super? Yeah I can't lie and say that I wouldn't, I love Dragon Ball as a franchise and any complaining I do above is only because I want to see it do better and is the main reason I why continued to watch it through thick and thin and I don't regret it. The amount of enjoyment I got out of Dragon Ball Super every Saturday for the past 2-3 years far exceeds the amount of disappointment that came with it. Overall (7/10) Good More Specifically (7.50/10) Good+ With Dragon Ball Super concluding at the time of this review the only thing Dragon Ball we have is the manga which is changing a decent amount of content and the movie later this year. Dragon Ball has shown that it can come back and still be relevant as a top anime at least from a popularity standpoint. I do think that after the movie we will indeed get some sort of sequel to Dragon Ball Super who knows Dragon Ball Ultra? Either way farewell Dragon Ball until we meet again!

Dragon Ball Super is the worst piece of fiction ever created. This is the most disappointing thing I have ever watched in my life. This anime is an absolute disgrace to Dragon Ball Z, and it should've never been made. The only reason anyone even likes Dragon Ball Super is because it has the words "Dragon Ball" in the title. Everyone would be hating on it if it was its own series, but if Dragon Ball is on it then nope people will like it. Why is it that some writers/creators don't know when to end a series? They end up milking it so hardto the point where it becomes utter garbage just for the sake of making more money. Dragon Ball Super is the perfect example of milking at it's finest. Dragon Ball Z ended normally, it should've never went on after that. Unfortunately, Dragon Ball Super takes everything that made Dragon Ball Z so great and throws it out the window. All of the characters and everything we used to love about Drago Ball Z turned into total shit now. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this because of nostalgia. From a quality standpoint, Dragon Ball Super is objectively worse than Dragon Ball Z. Now here are some reasons as to why Dragon Ball Super is a complete and utter failure. Again, Dragon Ball Super takes everything that made DBZ great and just throws it out. There is no great character development in Dragon Ball Super like there was in Dragon Ball Z. The fights are not nearly as exciting to watch and not nearly as good as in general. The characters become complete and utter garbage. The villains are awful. The story arcs are hands down some of the worst story arcs in the entire Dragon Ball series. First off, the characters. This anime has completely ruined some amazing characters, and also introduces us to even more bad characters. Firstly, Vegeta's character has been ruined on multiple occasions. In this animes early stages, we see Vegeta kissing Beerus's ass. That was absolutely ridiculous. I understand that he was just trying to keep the earth safe, but this completely contradicted his character. Vegeta would've never kissed Frieza's ass no matter what happened. Not even Cell or Majin Buu. For fucks sake, he sacrificed himself to try and defeat Majin Buu. Vegeta has always been a prideful warrior, but this shitty anime makes him someone's slave for the sake of unfunny comedy. Not only that, but Vegeta just doesn't act the same at all. You see Vegeta in the ToP arc making friendship speeches and saying things that he would never say. When he got a bullshit friendship powerup against Toppo to win I was absolutely disgusted. It's as if the show just randomly turned into Fairy Tail...On multiple occasions he's acting completely out of character, which is awful writing. The rest of the Z fighters are a complete joke. Gohan is way too into academics now. I cant complain about Super for that one though. Gohan was ruined as a character after the Cell saga...Piccolo is extremely weak and is just a baby sitter now. I cant believe this anime took the badass Piccolo and ruined him this badly. This anime is just about Goku and Vegeta. The rest of the Z fighters are completely useless and irrelevant. Remember when Gohan was a badass and went SSJ2 against Cell? You'll never see Gohan that badass again. Remember when Piccolo and the rest of the Z fighters were actually badass and fun characters to watch? Yeah I remember. Unfortunately this shity anime has made them all a joke. The animation in Dragon Ball Super is absolutely atrocious. I'm not even talking about the first 30 episodes either, the entire series as a whole has bad animation. Many fights are so poorly animated it's ridiculous. Goku vs Beerus, Vegito vs Zamasu, Jiren vs Goku, all of these fights were so poorly animated it's ridiculous. Now of course there were moments in each of these fights with good animation, but those moments barely last that long. For the most part, the fights have shitty animation and aren't visually interesting in the slightest. DBZ also didn't have the best animation as well, but there's a difference. DBZ still had awesome fights and didn't look completely ugly when there was bad animation. Goku vs Majin vegeta for example. The animation wasn't the best, but it was still a better fight than anything I've seen in Dragon Ball Super. The fight was still epic and had a lot of meaning to it, something you don't see in Dragon Ball Super. This brings me to my next point. The fights in Dragon Ball Super are complete and utter garbage. I'm not just talking about the animation in the fights, but everything else about them completely suck! First lets go back to Dragon Ball Z. What made fights in Dragon Ball Z so good is the buildup to them. There was a lot of buildup in fights back then, and by the time the fights start it would have you on the edge of your seats. Goku vs Vegeta, Goku vs Frieza, Goku vs Cell, Gohan vs Cell, so many fights in DBZ are good because of the awesome buildup we get. Not only this, but there was actually meaning behind the fights, it wasn't always just mindless action. Lets take Vegeta vs Android 18 for example. This fight had much more meaning to it and wasn't just mindless action. I cant say the same about Dragon Ball Super fights. Dragon Ball Super fights have no build up whatsoever, thus they aren't exciting to watch in the slightest. Dragon Ball Super fights have no deeper meaning behind them. It's just the same boring and repetitive nonsense over and over again. Lets take Beerus vs Goku for example. We have a random dude that comes out of nowhere that's capable of destroying planets. He then goes to Goku and they start to fight. No buildup whatsoever, thus the fight is fucking boring. We have Goku fight him again, this time he's a Super Saiyan God. Again, there's no buildup so there was absolutely nothing interesting about this fight. This applies to almost every other arc as well. 0 buildup in the black arc, 0 buildup in the tournament of power either. The fights are visually uninteresting and boring to watch, point blank period. Speaking about the lack of buildup, this applies to the transformations as well. The transformations in Dragon Ball Super are pure 100% garbage. There is no creativity to be found whatsoever. Super Saiyan God is just base form Goku with red hair. Ultra Instinct is just blue Kaioken. Super Saiyan Blue is just the same thing as Super Saiyan but with blue hair. It's lame and uninteresting. Even though Dragon Ball GT is noncanon, Super Saiyan 4 was much better than the garbage we see in Dragon Ball Super. At least there was some creativity in Super Saiyan 4. Also, there is no build up to these transformations whatsoever. Goku becoming a god because 5 other people give him power was absolute garbage. The introduction for Super Saiyan blue was awful as well. These transformations just come out of nowhere and there is no build up for them whatsoever. Super Saiyan 1 and 2 had beautiful introductions, but I cant say the same for the awful transformations we have in Dragon Ball Super. There's just way too many retcons and things that don't make any sense in general. For example, Vegito. It was stated in DBZ that using the potara fusion will make it so that they are permanently fused. Ok, but in Dragon Ball Super they retcon that and say that it only lasts an hour (if you're not a supreme kai). Absolutely ridiculous. Another example of bad writing, why did the Supreme Kai never tell anyone about Beerus? This makes no sense whatsoever. If there's someone out there that's that strong, then why would he never mention that? Again, bad writing. I'm sure we all know this, but the villains in Dragon Ball Super are complete garbage. First off we have Frieza. I used to like Frieza back in DBZ, but unfortunately this shitty anime brought him back and now I'm just fucking tired of Frieza. Why cant Akira Toriyama just be original and come up with something new? Bringing back old villains like Frieza is just lazy writing. I don't think Black/Zamasu is a bad villain. I'd say he's average. At least he wasn't poorly written like Golden Frieza. Dragon Ball Super doesn't even have one good arc. I've already sort of explained why the first arc is shit. A random "God of Destruction" appears out of nowhere and is 1000 times stronger than everyone else. He decides to destroy planet earth, but then spares them after fighting Goku. Absolute dogshit. Again, this arc was terrible because of the lack of build up. It didn't even feel like Dragon Ball, it just felt like fanfiction bullshit. There are two tournament arcs in Dragon Ball Super, just proving further that there is no creativity to be found in this anime. The Tournament of Power is hands down the shittiest arc in the series. The fights were badly animated, and just bad in general. The asspulls were absolutely ridiculous. I mentioned this before, Vegeta gets a random asspull powerup and defeats someone that's clearly stronger than him. This makes no sense whatsoever. Back in DBZ, if someone was weaker than another person, there's no way they'd be able to win. It's all a matter of power levels. If you're weaker you're weaker and there's nothing you can do to win. So Vegeta asspulling his way to victory made no sense whatsoever! We get awful characters in this arc as well. Jiren is one of the worst characters in Dragon Ball history. He's worse than Yamcha, worse than Pan, worse than anyone you've ever seen in Dragon Ball. First off, he's a lame character. He's just a boring and somehow extremely overpowered character. His backstory is ridiculously generic. There was no effort put into the making of his backstory. He constantly acts out of character. At one point he states that he seeks something further than strength. At another point he says that he wants to become the strongest ever. This made no sense, none whatsoever. Honestly, Jiren is barely even a character. I cant believe anyone actually thinks he's good. Dragon Ball Super has the most ridiculous power scaling I've ever seen in my life. I've never seen a battle shounen that has worse power scaling than this garbage. We have characters here that train for a couple months and become Super Saiyan God level. We have fucking Krillin holding off Super Saiyan Blue Goku. That was hands down the most stupid shit I've ever seen. We have Super Saiyan 2 Trunks holding off fucking Goku Black. We have MASTER FUCKING ROSHI fighting in the Tournament of Power arc and actually beating people up. That makes NO sense whatsoever. This is the same individual that was weaker than kid Goku. If there are any real Dragon Ball fans reading this review, remember kid Goku vs Jackie Chun? At that point, Master Roshi was already weaker than Goku. He could train his entire life and he still shouldn't be a match for ANYONE. It makes no sense! Android 17 being as strong as Goku and Vegeta was also total nonsense. That just doesn't make any sense. No matter how much training he did, he should never be able to get that strong like that. He should be like Mystic Gohans level at best. Goku and Vegeta trained with Beerus and Whis, two of the strongest people in the universe. You're telling me that 17 is as strong as two people on God level, and two people that trained with the strongest individuals in the universe? Nonsense. Real Dragon Ball fans such as myself do not support this garbage ass anime and the manga. If you're a real Dragon Ball fan you would know that it ends after Z. All that other shit is complete nonsense. So that's the end of my review. Dragon Ball Super is bottom tier shounen. It's down there with other garbage shounen such as One Piece, Fairy Tail, Seven Deadly Sins, etc. It might even be worse. This anime is a disgrace to Dragon Ball Z, and I'd even argue that GT is better than this nonsense. The only reason I'm giving tthis anime a 1 is because it's not possible to give it anythning below that. This anime doesn't deserve a one, it deserves a 0. Nothing was good about it, literally nothing.

Dragon Ball Super when it first started out, was widely criticized by many due to many reasons. Firstly, poor animation. DBS started out with poor animation, considering it can cost up to $300,000 to make one episode, this is understandable but having better animation would certainly be more appealing. Second, power scaling problems. There are many many 'flaws' to Dragon Ball as a whole not just DBS. It just doesn't make sense that someone clearly weaker or more inexperienced can fight toe to toe with someone much much much stronger. One of the more common talking points is Frieza being able to beat Goku after only fourmonths of training. If that's the case, take into account that Frieza at 100 percent power gave Super Saiyan Goku trouble way back on Namek, without training a day in his life. His raw strength was so much so that he never had to train to confront anyone stronger than him—at the time, he was the strongest in the universe (Beerus and Majin Buu were asleep) so it makes sense for him to be that strong. I’ve seen a lot of people say that characters like Gohan and Android 17 were able to make Goku go Super Saiyan Blue so they must be at god-level strength. This is not the case because Goku’s Blue form does not have a rigid power level. Since it depends on perfect ki control, Goku can modify his energy output so as to not go all out and destroy people or even planets. Come on guys, are you seriously telling me that Goku was going 100 percent on Gohan and 17? If he wanted to, he could have easily wiped the floor with them in an instant. If you’re saying that Goku went to Blue because these characters were THAT strong, then explain to me why Blue wasn’t effective against Zamasu at all? Or why Vegito—arguably the strongest character in the entire franchise—had to be formed to stand a chance of beating him? There’s no other explanation other than Goku holding back. Third, many fans complain that DBS is only about Goku, that is true but there is nothing wrong with that because the show is about HIM, it's like saying 'WHY IS NARUTO IN EVERY EPISODE OF NARUTO' because the show IS ABOUT NARUTO not everyone else in the Hidden Leaf Village. While I'm here, I'm also going to address Gohan’s character development, which is STILL somehow a huge talking point for the series. Let me make this clear. Gohan is not a Saiyan—he is a half Saiyan. Gohan never liked fighting. He never reveled in it. From the get go, he has always tried to resolve things peacefully and without conflict. He only fought because he was forced to, not because he WANTED to. So WHY people are complaining about the fact that he’s not kicking butt on screen every other episode is beyond me. He was NEVER meant to fight. He wanted to just live a normal life as a student. He’s doing something now in the latest arc, which is great to see for nostalgia purposes, but if you're going to say that Dragon Ball Super is a bad show because Gohan isn't fighting, then you really need to reconsider how well you know the series in the first place. BUT. With the end of the series and the final arc finished, I''m sure all you DB fans are finally satisfied. Everything I mentioned above was fixed even though in my opinion none of it was actually wrong. Let's just say it was a necessary improvement, not really to improve the anime but to please the fans whilst improving the anime. I'd safely say 1/3 of the anime was the Tournament of Power, one of the most epic arc or to be more precise, the arc that contains the most epic battles. The animation also improved drastically if I don't say so myself. The Tournament of Survival Arc is literally a 48 minute battle that lasted through an epic series of consecutive battles throughout a good 50 episodes. This was no doubt the main 'comeback' for DBS and this of course helped the anime end in a BANG Power scaling was still a bit of a problem but the anime managed to provide some or at least a slight bit of explanation to why certain characters are suddenly/still so strong. And with the arc featuring the strongest warriors in all of the universes, we get to see every character getting much much stronger due to breaking past their limit. This was very predictable however it was understandable and very well done because it all had one reason and that was survival. It allowed development for almost every main character in the arc for that one simple reason. Because similar to real life, in a battle for survival one can and will go above and beyond their limits to survive. Of course, Goku went well above his limits and I can say the same for all our warriors in the Tournament of Power, even the enemies of our Universe 7 warriors went beyond themselves to fight for survival. This allowed us to capture everyone's 'Full Power' and be amazed at the new levels of power they achieve and also take us on a rollercoaster of feelings as despite becoming overpowered from breaking their limit, nothing is decided simply because breaking your own limit takes a huge toll on your stamina and because of that fact, once your stamina wears off, you can't do anything at all. Our main character Goku was the epitome of that. He broke his limit once in an epic battle against the strongest mortal being in all universes, Jiren and attained a level that even gods fear, Ultra Instinct. He then lost almost all his stamina and afterwards attaining UI again when fighting Kefla, another super strong Saiyan and finally mastering it and using it once more in the final fight against Jiren. He tired himself out time and time again but endured till the final battle where he ended up working with none other than. Frieza There was ALOT of development for other characters as well, their personality and all for example who would have ever thought someone like Frieza would end up working together with Saiyans the main beings he despises when pushed/cornered to his limit or Frieza actually saving so many of Universe 7 warriors, even boldly sacrificing himself and actually putting his trust on them and them actually trusting him. Truly an unexpected turn of events and true character development. Who would've known how much one can change in a battle of survival or when cornered. I'm really glad that the anime actually seized the opportunity to develop every character largely through this arc. With this one arc alone, everything the fans were hating on at the beginning was fixed. It also showed us that teamwork was very important since most of the time our characters would be selfish and attempt to 1v1 their opponents. Thanks to the introduction of many clearly superior and truly overpowered opponents including one way way way beyond anyone Universe 7 ever faced, it helped our characters realize working alone isn't possible and even allowed someone like Frieza, not to mention our prideful Vegeta to understand and work together with their most hated comrades or letting go of their pride to beat their enemy. Yes, I've begun to like Frieza through this arc despite him still being a ruthless dick actually seeing a change just once is really cool. And seeing how all our strongest MCs get pushed to a corner so badly, barely holding their own until they surpass their limits is very entertaining. Overall, I'd say the final arc more than makes up for the beginning and this is probably one of the coolest and most amazing character development I've ever seen in Dragon Ball History. Continue to amaze me. Till we meet again This review was written on 02-25-19 and may be outdated. I may have changed my rating due to various reasons.

**THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS** My relationship with Dragon Ball : I had watched bits of Dragon Ball when I was a kid but I never knew the complete story. Then, in 2014 I binge watched DBKai and Final Chapters and realised that this was the greatest anime of all time. Then came Dragon Ball Super. Summary of how I think I felt during the story : First 28 episodes were retelling of the movies with shitty art and animation. Watch the movies instead. Next came the Tournament arc with Universe 6. Finally, got new content. It was good. This arc introduced many new characters and newinformation like Universe 6 Saiyans, Multiple Universes, Super Dragon Balls and Zeno. It opened up infinite possibilities for the series and I was really excited to see the direction in which the series would have gone, only to be let down afterwards. Then came the Future Trunks saga. This arc had its moments but overall it was a bad arc in my opinion. Trunks getting emotional was really sad to watch and you could feel his pain. The animation had improved slightly for the fights. The idea of Black Goku was intriguing and the villain was well written. He was not just another generic baddie. Beerus killing Zamasu was one of the best moments in the entire series. However, later the arc went downhill. We couldn't make any sense of the power levels(but that's a problem that plagued the whole of Super), and the fights were too fan fiction-ey. The ending didn't make any sense with Trunks somehow defeating the villian with a power up. Next was the Universe Survival Saga. It was great until the last few episodes. They changed how the anime looked to give it the old feel and the art and animation got a lot better. I didn't mind the bad animation of Super until then since I was watching a version of the show where Goku was voiced by an old lady. This change in the look of the show gave a lot of fans including me, the hope that the series might be finally getting better. The animation and art was brilliant at some points and the episodes were really entertaining. There were many twists including the inclusion of Frieza which was unexpected. We even got a mysterious villian called Jiren who looked invincible who was then revealed at the end to be an uninteresting baddie with a shitty backstory. The final episodes were...different. Overall a 7/10 anime. Pros: -More Dragon Ball -World building and new possibilities with the introduction of multiverse. -Beerus and Whis -Some epic moments, fight scenes, twists and some slice of life episodes. Cons: -Subpar art and animation for the majority of the show. -No sense of power levels. -Power ups without explanations and new forms just to sell toys. -Turning Goku from a battle genius who didn't give a shit about anything else into an idiot whose good at fighting and achieving new asspull forms just like that because that's what Saiyans do.(according to Vegeta anyway). -Turning Dragon Ball Z and all its characters kids friendly. (I know Dragon Ball was a kids show but still...). -Turning the bulky characters to stick figures. Music : Some tracks from Final Chapters were reused for this anime. I felt that the number of tracks were low. Same music was played throughout the anime with very few additions in the last arc. Overall 7/10. Watch it if you want to.

After years of waiting, Dragon Ball Super has finally come too end, and I can say that this has been one bizarre ride. This series reaches both some pretty meh lows yet also reaches some highs that haven't been seen in Dragon Ball before! Story: 6 Super is comprised of 5 major arcs that are all different in terms of quality but thankfully just gets better as it goes on. The first 27 episodes are retellings of Battle of Gods and Ressurection F which are just much worse versions from their movie counterparts. They're slower paced, include some more filler, and look really shitty. They aren'tterrible by any means but at best they're just whatever, really no reason for them to exist besides Toei making some more cash. The first new arc of Super is 6 vs. 7 which is fine but rather disappointing. It's just a basic 5 1v1 tournament which isn't new to the series of course. Goku Black is also disappointing, flawed, but also a good arc nonetheless. Then there's the Tournament of Power which sort of saved or made the series a lot better and more popular. I've heard nothing but good things about it and thankfully it did not disappoint me. The Tournament of Power is great, it is by far the best arc in Super. After 20 episodes of buildup, it is nothing but nonstop action all the way until the end, it is everything I wanted from it. Sadly the actual tournament is only about a fourth of Super and including the buildup episodes its still about less than half of the series. For Super's actual plot, it focuses most of its time on the Gods, Angels, Universes, and Deities. It's much more grand than the likes of the Majin Buu saga but at this point it doesn't really matter who Goku and Vegeta will be fighting. Frieza was apparently the most powerful being in the universe during the Frieza saga, but then some scientist on Earth made androids that could overpower Frieza ten folds, and then we found out that another super powerful monster has been on Earth too. What I mean is, Dragon Ball's power scaling and power levels haven't been realistic for quite awhile and Super is no exception. In Resurrection F, we learn that Frieza has never trained a day in his life so after training for a near 4 months he is able to catch up Goku and Vegeta. Things like this are more apparent in Super and while it doesn't ruin the show by any means, its still something that bothers me whenever they show up. Besides power and speed becoming unrealistic and stupid, Super has some other problems. I think my biggest problem would have to be the butchering of super saiyans. Now I believe that the series has had this problem ever since Trunks turned into one and sliced up Frieza back in Z along with kid Trunks and Goten. However its much more aggravating here this time. Caba's transformation in 6 vs. 7 was fine but Kale and Caulifla's transformations are just really dumb. Plus they can easily go from Super Saiyan to SS2 in no time which is just a big middle finger to all the time and struggle we saw with Gohan back in the Cell saga. Overall though, Super's arcs are very mixed ranging from just whatever to great. Art: 6 Oh boy how times have changed. DBZ has never looked good or at least besides the movies which of course had more time and budget. I can defend Z's art to a certain extent. The animation or lack there of was really bad and lacking, reusage of shots and animation were iconic, and the show could just look bad in general. However, as the series went on, the still shots looked much better was more noticeable in the Buu and even Cell sagas, plus Toriyama's character designs are amazing and is one reason why the manga is my favorite looking manga. But this is Super and not Z. Everyone knows the first 27 episodes looked like garbage, the DVD releases didn't improve much and they still look like shit. 6 vs. 7 wasn't much better either. Goku Black arc looked decent or at least not bad. However, this is Dragon Ball, one of the biggest animes ever. It deserves so much more time and respect than this. Somehow the series made a complete turnaround once the Tournament of Power arc started. The 20 episodes of buildup actually look good, its what Dragon Ball should look like. Characters are usually on model, the fights look good, its colorful, has a new boldness to it and it just looks good for once. Thankfully that wasn't enough, and Toei actually began to use some of the endless amounts of money they've been saving up and hired talented animators and directors for the Tournament of Power. Most of it looks really, really good. I am actually shocked and had no idea Dragon Ball could look this good before and as it went on it only got better. Some fights look amazing and even on par, yes you heard me, ON PAR with the newer movies. Some of the last episodes look fantastic and I swear it looks like Bones or Madhouse could've made them. Sadly this is only for a fourth of the entire run so I can't say Super overall looks great. Besides the animation itself I think its important to talk about the character designs. Super's newer characters look good, however it is obvious that they are much more simple and not as detailed as some of Dragon Ball's older cast. This could have been done for the animators to have an easier time animating more movement instead of the working on details on the characters but obviously that wasn't the case earlier on and the Tournament of Power proves this wrong. I'm not a big fan of Super's newer designs since they are more simple but I still enjoy most of them. Sound: 8 There is not much I would say that Super does better than Z but I will give credit where credit is due. Super's soundtrack is pretty damn good. I'm not a huge fan of Z's soundtrack in the first place, or at least the original Japanese score, but I am a fan of Funimation's Bruce Faulconer score which is great. If I were to describe Super's soundtrack in just one word it would probably be epic. This honestly makes a lot of sense wince the show is now about gods and whatnot and I'm glad the soundtrack is enjoyable to listen to. Although both good, I am disappointed to see that Super only has 2 OPs for a 131 episode series. It has 11 ending themes and most of them are good especially Hello Hello Hello and Boogie Back. Also, for me, I watch 99% of anime dubbed and Dragon Ball is at the top of the best dubs out there. The Japanese cast just sounds so weird and Goku sounds like a grandma which is ridiculous. I can not stand the sub of Dragon Ball at all. Thankfully, Funimation's dub still had it. Christopher Sabat and Sean Schimmel still provide great performances as Goku and Vegeta and all the returning cast from Kai are great too. However, I will say that the dub isn't perfect and has some downsides. I'm probably in the minority on this but I much prefer Linda Young's chain smoker Frieza from Z instead of Christopher Ayres' Frieza. That's not to say his performance isn't bad, he's a great actor and all and I do enjoy his Frieza but I don't love it like I do with Linda's. Some of the side characters or some newer roles that Funimation casted aren't that great and they're voices you hear in literally every other anime they dub. These voices are usually good but not great. Also another downside to the dub would be its English version of the Ultra Instinct song. It's much more quieter and just sounds a lot worse than the Japanese one which is odd because I actually enjoy the English covers on Super's 2 OPs. Characters: 8 Dragon Ball has always had a great cast of characters before and Super's cast is far from bad, although I wouldn't say it's as amazing as OG Dragon Ball's or Z's. Super focuses a lot of its time mainly on Goku and Vegeta along with Beerus and Whis. Side characters such as Hercule, Buu, Krillin, and many others get screen time too but you'll mostly be seeing just Vegeta and Goku. Dragon Ball has been leaning towards giving Goku and Vegeta the main attention ever since the Buu saga since the idea of making Gohan the main character didn't turn out the way Toriyama wanted it to. This was also done because again, the power scaling is just unrealistic and off the charts so characters like Gohan, Piccolo, and Krillin shouldn't be able to do anything. Super fixes this small problem halfway through once the Tournament of Power is on its way and we get to see characters such as Krillin, Androids 17, 18, Tien, and even Master Roshi kick some ass. Besides beating up some soldiers in Resurrection F, we haven't seen Roshi fight since OG Dragon Ball. Choices like this are awesome and I love it. It's been forever since we've seen some of these characters duke it out. Even if it's not for a lot, I still highly appreciate the fan service Super did with some of these characters. Plus we get to see Frieza and Goku team up for the first time ever which is insane! Besides the old cast, there's obviously a good amount of new faces too. Beerus and Whis are both great and hilarious at times. Hit, Universe 6's Saiyans, Goku Black, and other from the Tournament of Power are also welcome. Some of the newer characters aren't great like Zamasu or some of the lesser character from the Tournament but overall a good amount of the newer characters are good and the returning cast is still great. Enjoyment: 8 I'm a huge fan of shounen especially when it comes to Dragon Ball. I get way too much enjoyment out of Super than I have any right to. Even though the first 27 episodes aren't good I still had no problem watching a bunch of episodes in one sitting. I watched the Goku Black arc in 2 sittings and pretty much 3 big sittings for The Tournament of Power which is 55 episodes let me remind you. Dragon Ball Z and Super is one of the easiest anime to binge so no real complaints here. Overall: 7 Dragon Ball Super is a very mixed and flawed anime. Starting off really underwhelming and disappointing turns into one of the best arcs in the series. I still love Dragon Ball and Super is a welcomed addition to the series. While not all of it is great, it never comes close to the garbage that is GT.

Ahhhh, Dragon Ball Super, the canon version of some weird fanfiction called Dragon Ball AF. Let's start! *Movie recaps: you can't start an anime with just a recap of the first two (bad) movies. It's feels more like filler and just a waste of time. The episodes are excessively long and the terrible animation is over the top. EXAMPLE? Remember episode 5? The story is bad just like that movies. Retcons, asspulls, resurrections, lazy designs of 'new' transformations. 1/10 *Super Tournament Arc: the reason of this Tournament makes no sense in the first place. Champa can gather the Super Dragon Balls without discuss with Bills. Iknow that fights are important here but at least give me a decent reason of why they are fighting! The worst part is that they are a disaster (asspulls, zero strategy). Piccolo is defeated by Frost because he was cheating, for that, he can't return. Goku is defeated for the same reason yet he can return!? Because is the MC, of course! The arc is just Vegeta and Goku vs Universe 6. The other characters are just wasted potential. Majin Boo can't enter because he failed to some written test? LMAO 2/10 *Future Trunks Arc: they tried to give us a different villain there but as the arc proceeds it becomes your sadist and standart villain. Zamatsu is highly hypocritical, he wants to kill all the mortals believing them to be the source of all evil. Yes, i got it! But you can do that with Super Dragon Ball that you had! Why do you slowly kill everybody!? The series tries (and fail) to sympathise with him but he is just a sadist! Almost all the scenes are bad: Trunks being just a Gary Stu (just look the ending of the battle!), repetive (so many time travels are just ridiculous!), asspulls, Goku Black have some unexplained and forced new transformation (also the desing is very lazy), Goku being more idiot than ever and they tried to establish a weird and nonsense romance between Future Mai and Future Trunks LOL?! 2/10 (the only interesting scene was Future Zeno erasing all the universes). *Tournament of Power Arc (or the Tournament of Asspulls Arc): the most 'hyped' tournament! I know that Goku loves fighting but what he do is something antithetical here, everybody that loses this tournament will be erased by Zeno. Despite that, Goku doesn't care and just want to fight strong guys. This arc consists on two factors: no tension or forced tension. The first were in the first episodes of the arc and in the middle. It was supposed that everybody IN THE UNIVERSE will be killed if they lose yet many of them take the issue far too lightly. The second is the overdramatic episodes, many are scared that universe 7 will be erased! Nobody remeber the ending of Z? They are alive! There are some interesting subplots that were forgotten like Frieza plan in the tournament (nothing happens in the end). The fights are slightly better but the asspulls are still over the place again. The most clear example was Kefla (Caulifla and Kale fusion), she exists just to be owerpower and nothing more. And now, Jiren, is personality is all over the place. First, he is a calm guy that thinks before acting. Suddenly, after some generic and tragic flashback, he goes full fledged yandere for no reason! There is no consistency in anyway. Of course, the ending is just everybody reviving. I don't dislike so much this arc like the others, 17 and 18 were cool and very few fights scenes are decent. 3/10 The lack of blood, bad animation, retcons that ruined Z, the characters are just parodies of themselves, asspulls. Ehh, this series makes me ashamed to like Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. It hurts that a decent franchise was ruined just for the sake of money. Story: 2/10 Art: 2/10 Sound: 2/10 Character: 2/10 Enjoyment: 2/10 Filler: 0/10 2/10 overall.

SPOILER Warning: Oh my goodness, where do I even begin with this "continuation" of a somewhat good franchise overall. This is basically a "sequel" to Dragonball Z. Dragonball Z was not perfect by any means, however going into this "sequel" after you watch Dragonball Z you think that you will be expecting a decent story with brand new yet characters like the older ones, a sense of an adventure as well as a new threatening danger, as The Z Fighters have to rise to the challenge. But, nope that is not what we get Ladies and Gentlemen, we actually get a Quarter of a Half BakedTravesty served with a total and utter amount of dissatisfaction and disgust. We will start with the two Main Characters Goku and Vegeta. Goku has been regressed from an uneducated Saiyan raised on Earth with a pure heart who learns the responsibilities of being the main protector of Earth as he tries to and succeeds in passing the torch to someone else in order to fill the role as the next Leader of The Z Fighters into a mentally handicapped, destructive, over the top levels of immaturity, unbearable amount of selfishness and a greatly irresponsible Saiyan who puts the entire Multiverse in great danger all because he wants a good fight. For goodness sakes Goku hires the assassin Hit to kill him in order to get a thrilling fight. Is Goku now suicidal to the extent of getting something that he loves? He made Goten cry over his "supposed" death. Listen I don't want the main character to be a perfect Gary Stu that can do no wrong, but I know that this is actually the opposite of a Gary Stu. Goku has no redeeming qualities in this f***ing travesty of an anime. Now as for Vegeta, He once was a a heartless and prideful Saiyan as well as the Prince of all Saiyans who demolished hundreds of civilizations and killed innocent lives for the enjoyment of it. However Goku slowly, but surely changed him to leave his bloody and ruthless past behind and start a family of his own as Vegeta slowly started to grow quite fond of the Planet Earth and eventually accepted the fact that Goku a low class Saiyan raised on Earth is greater than He is. Vegeta's character has gone full circle. So what happens in Dragonball Super? Oh Vegeta changes his mind in the very next arc and continues to have a spiteful yet hateful demeanor towards Goku and still to this day desires to surpass him one day. Not to mention that Vegeta's overall character is all over the freaking place during the Tournament of Power arc as he goes from crying over Cabba like a little girl to no joke within an instant shrugging off Krillin and Whis's compliments of him and his determination to beat Jiren for Cabba's sake like a teenage girl. Now we will tackle the story of Dragonball Super overall and as you have probably guessed, it is complete dogs**t, there is in fact surprisingly barely a story to be told since there is barely any character development from the characters as well as no story narrative to be found no matter how far and wide you search for it. The story is just about surpassing Gods, to taking care of a Villain that should of stayed dead long ago, to getting involved in a Tournament because two Gods are fighting over petty food, to once again taking care of a danger from the far distant future, to finally ending it off with a Tournament of Survival. Now the only compliment that I can give the story of Dragonball Super is that three of the five major arcs could have worked if they were written by competent writers who knew the lore of Dragonball and those arcs being The Battle of Gods Arc, The Multi-Tournament Arc, and The Tournament of Power Arc. The Revival of F Arc and The Black Goku Arc can never be of decent to good quality in terms of writing no matter how skilled you are as a writer. Dragonball Super also completely fails at creating tension as Bills (Beerus) and Whis can just take care of most of the Z Fighters problems with the villains. Even if Goku and the others are in the far distant future as in The Goku Black Arc, Goku can just merely press a freaking button to solve the threat of Zamasu. Also Whis has the ability to freaking time travel easily without creating an alternate timeline like He is freaking Toriyama in disguise or something as well as reviving Freiza with just a flick with his staff with no heavy cost. Also Dragonball Super lacks originality to the point of copying certain memorable moments from Dragonball Z and incorporating them into this unforgivable "sequel" such as Vegeta's Final Flash on Jiren, to Vegeta's Final Explosion on Toppo, to having yet another time travel arc, etc. Also certain characters from The Tournament of Power Arc are complete ripoffs / knockoffs of other characters from other popular anime such series as but not limited to Sailor Moon, My Hero Academia, Pokemon, One Punch Man, Yu Yu Hakusho, to many more that I am probably not aware of. Dragonball Super just so happens to also lack the basic lore within its own franchise from its predecessors Dragonball and Dragonball Z. From Trunks using the Spirit Bomb, to King Kai's planet coming back, to reviving Frieza even though you can't wish someone back with the Dragonballs after a year or so, to Frieza growing stronger in the afterlife by mentally training even though evil doers can't keep their original bodies when they die and go to the afterlife, to the Potara Fusion having a time limit on mortals, to the Dragonballs having the power to defuse Kabito Kai back to The Supreme Kai and Kabito even though the Potara Fusion was suppose to be permanent as said by The Elder Kai, to not understanding the Instant Transmission and assuming that it is movement rather than Teleportation, to having a ki blast revive you instead of damaging you, and many more. Dragonball Super also has other huge problems such as Power Scaling which is basically nonexistent and dictated by the writers on a whim as well as their favoritism towards certain characters such as Android 17, Frieza, and Master Roshi etc. Dragonball Super also suffers from the writers being so darn incompetent or putting in plot points, but then completely changing it later on during the run of the series such as Goku's evil smirks during his fight with Toppo, everyone was theory crafting that that was actually Black Goku from the previous arc. Another example is The Grand Priest making evil smirks when Universes kept on getting erased from existence making theorists assume that The Grand Priest wanted this all to happen as a part of his plan for something terrifying. Another thing to note in Dragonball Super is the extreme lack of character devolopment in which Dragonball Z proudly has. In Dragonball Super both Goku and Vegeta are technically static characters which is the worst thing to have in such a long series such as this. Also the only characters that have any sort of development are Bills (Beerus), Android 17, Frieza (In which I personally despise Frieza's devolpoment in this series as He should have been the one irredeemable villain), and a probably a few others that aren't on the top of my head right now. In conclusion Dragonball Super is a freaking travesty unlike any other anime out there that I have personally ever seen, from its horrible characters, to characters acting out of character, to somewhat promising plot points that haven't been realised to its fullest potential to make a thrilling story, to its obvious yet "many" inconsistencies within the franchise's respectable Universe, to no narrative in its overall "story", to lacking in worldbuilding, to lacking in tension as well as intense drama between the characters that enhance the plot in some way shape or form, to its terrible and inexcusable animation which most of time looks like complete and utter garbage espeically in the beginning of the anime, to the horrible as well as abysmal fighting cheorgraphy in which upon thorough inspection is actually completely uninspired and repetitive. Dragonball Super is truly a disgrace not only to the anime viewers that have seen it, but also to the many dedicated Dragonball fans out there on this planet. Dragonball Super is so dreadfully awful and so darn HORRENDOUS beyond belief that it actually divided the Online Dragonball Fanbase itself between the Dragonball Super Fanboys that flood the internet still hyping Dragonball Super's return to this very day and the older yet more laid back Dragonball Z fans from the early to late 2000's. Dragonball Super has an overall story that is worse than even freaking Dragonball Evolution and that takes one heck of a feat indeed considering that Dragonball Evolution is complete and utter trash as well. Dragonball Super is actually so disgusting that it made me take a step back and wonder if I should continue following this franchise as a fan myself. Dragonball Super is a series that should be wiped out from the face of existence and then some, I am not joking! Dragonball Super may not be the worst anime of all time, but I can tell you this as a FACT, Dragonball Super is the worst Shonen anime out there and I doubt that any shonen in the distant future that comes out can possibly match or even dream of being worse than this horrendously awful yet disturbing work of fiction that actually made its way out of the drawing board. Rest in Piece to The Dragonball Franchise (1984 - 2012)

Dragon Ball Super was a big letdown for me. All the Character Development from DBZ was thrown out the window, and characters are not who they used to be, leaving them as a shallow, stupid version of themselves that attempts to mimic the good parts of Z. Animation: By far the most appalling part of the show. First half of the anime looks awfully horrible. It sometimes looks fan animated. I will admit though, in the later parts of the anime, it does improve. Visually, not a good looking anime compared to any modern-day anime such as One Punch Man, which featured great visuals. The artstylewas very off-putting, usually the models were completely dumb-looking. On top of that, there is no blood at all, which has happened for censorship reasons, I suppose. Overall, DBS does anything visually not well at all. Story: Bland, sometimes outright dumb. Resurrection of F Arc was awful. Later Arcs are better, but still, the story lacks any deep connection or intensity to the core, like Z did. Filler: literally the most enjoyable part of the show, lmao. Transformations: All of them were stupid and are only good for ridiculous and out of control power scaling. they lack intuitive or creative design. Seriously, Super Saiyan Blue is literally a recolor. and blue hair? seriously? Then there's Super Saiyan Rose. Pink hair. What's next? Looks like they've run out of colors to use. Guess we'll just give Goku some contacts and make his hair white! Seriously, these designs were all boring and stupid. The only good thing from GT was SSJ4, and at least that was done somewhat right. Power Scalings: Completely ridiculous and stupid. At the end of the show, Goku can apparently destroy the universe in 3 punches. This... it's gone to damn far.. The writer thinks it's cool now, but i find it absolutely moronic. Overall: A big letdown for me. Animation pales in comparison to any other anime aired in the recent years. Story is bland and almost seems like a fanfic (Golden Freeza! Evil Goku!!! yaaaaaaaaaaaa!!11!!) Transformations are boring, stupid, and uncreative. Power scalings are just out of hand, now. 3/10. mostly cause this is the only anime I've found that I enjoyed the filler more than the actual story.

Dragon Ball Super is the worst installment of the Dragon Ball franchise. When GT first came out, everyone thought it was the worst installment of the Dragon Ball franchise. Guess what, Dragon Ball Super is way worse than that. Following Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super is the sequel of Dragon Ball Z. If you are a fan of Dragon Ball Z and is looking for more content of Dragon Ball, don't waste your time, Dragon Ball Super is an outrageous disappointment. Most of the anime's arcs are just worse, budget versions of the movies. There is no extra content in the anime, so I wouldadvise you to watch the Dragon Ball Super movies rather than the anime. You would save a lot of time, and the movies are done in higher quality than the anime. Story: 1/10 The story is appalling, and the stakes are dreadfully low, every time the main characters get in a predicament, they suddenly obtain a new transformation and defeat the villain. Goku also forms a friendly relationship with the most powerful being in the multiverse, Zeno, so whenever the main characters are in trouble, they just summon Zeno and win. The amount of retcons and contradictions are ridiculous. Trunks suddenly gets a new unexplained transformation. Most of the arcs feel disconnected as well, it feels as if each arc is its own standalone story. Art: 1/10 The animation and art of Dragon Ball Super are ridiculously terrible. The fight scenes are riddled and littered with repeated animation, and that ruins most of the fights in Dragon Ball Super. Sound: 6/10 The sound is fair, in fight scenes, the music can enhance and improve your experience of Dragon Ball Super. Still, the music is nothing special. Character: 3/10 Most of the characters are flat, one-dimensional, and generally boring. Goku turns into a jerk, Vegeta turns into comedic relief, and most of the side characters do nothing and just appear in the background. Surprisingly, the most enjoyable characters are the newly introduced characters. I enjoyed Beerus and Whis, they were funny. Enjoyment: 4/10 Surprising, even with all its flaws, I somewhat enjoyed Dragon Ball Super. I wouldn't rewatch it by no means, but I didn't absolutely hate the time I spent watching Dragon Ball Super. After you overlook all of Dragon Ball Super's flaws, you can somewhat enjoy it. I view Dragon Ball Super as mindless entertainment. Overall: 1/10 You can spend your time doing something more productive, or watching better anime, instead of watching Dragon Ball Super. If Dragon Ball Super was viewed critically, it will undoubtedly score extremely low.

This review takes all the Dragon ball series into account, including all the anime and all the movies/OVAs. No need to introduce Dragon Ball, it's with no doubt the most known manga ever. Not only it keeps running despite being 30 years-old or more, it's also a perfect concept for kids: colorful, epic, memorable, funny. Sadly, the anime version doesn't deserve any more praise than that. In the manga, the art was good but the story was shit most of the time ; in the anime, the art is way worse and it keeps the original messed-up story, which gives a show full of flaws that can'tbe denied. STORY Yes, the story is NOT the point of the show. So I understand people who tolerate that. But I'll say it anyway: the story and the universe of Dragon Ball makes no god damn sense. First, the universe. I think I never saw a world so inconsistent, even in japanimation. There are no clear living species, Toriyama just puts whatever comes into his mind and many species don't even have an official name (hello, "Frieza's race"). Then, the story. The quality of the narration depends on the arc. Everyone liked the story of Cell and the Cyborgs. It's actually the only story worth telling in this whole show. That's why I was really surprised to learn that this arc was actually completely improvised. Finally, worst of all: there's a lot of incoherences. The Dragon Balls are the worst. First, they're on Earth and are limited ; then, we learn that another planet has Dragon Balls, that are conveniently way less restricted than the Earth ones. And now, there are seven huge DBs in the galaxy? Make up your mind, damn it! It's the name of the show, so why does it have no clear definition?!!! Anyway, I won't develop any more, the story of Dragon Ball is shit, everyone knows it. I read a review saying that it wasn't as stupid as Fairy Tail. I'll counterbalance and say that DB IS indeed way more stupid AND at least the universe of Fairy Tail makes sense, which we can't say about DB. ART The anime is horrendous. Toei Animation is a very old studio that weren't able to evolve and keeps serving us old-school level animes. Today they simply can't keep up against their opponents. If their style was good 20 years ago, now their shows are so ugly! The animation is bad, it's slack and not fluid enough to be enjoyable. Their shows are the kind where the characters chat for at least 70% of their fight, which results in unbelievably long fights (remember Goku vs Frieza). The drawings are very bad as well, especially Dragon Ball Super. SOUND Now that's a bit better here. The OST has memorable themes and the openings are very good. No, they're better than that, some of them are even legendaries! I do have a problem with the seiyuus though. I've never had any problem with seiyuus, EXCEPT in Dragon Ball. Their voices are simply not believable. Whenever I hear Goku, I don't even hear a human. I think I would take him more seriously with a robotic voice (which would still be bad). CHARACTER The characters in DB are badass, and... that's all. Aside from that, they're all brain dead and most of them are useless as f*ck. I still can't believe Bulma was one of the MCs in DB! The chara-design makes no sense, like everything else in DB. Future Trunks is the only character with a memorable story. For the rest, you may be interested in the Saiyan race origin story ; personnally, they lost me with the Super Saiyan levels. ENJOYMENT I did enjoy reading the manga of Dragon Ball. But the story was shit, and that's the only thing the anime took from the manga. Then, they added a horrendous art style, and take way too long to fight. Not only that, they also added a bunch of fillers with literally zero interest. Anyway, when it comes to Dragon Ball, the only thing worth mentioning is the original manga, the OST of the anime, and the openings. Among the long anime shows, this one is definitely the worst.

Strap yourselves in for an honest review of Dragon Ball Super! This long-awaited continuation of the Dragon Ball franchise (following directly from Dragon Ball Z), Dragon Ball Super attempts to bring back our childhood excitement with brand new material from the original creator himself. However, being the follow-up to the extremely popular Dragon Ball Z, Super had big shoes to fill. Now I shall give my opinion on whether or not it did. Story: 1.0 / 10 Simply put: there is no story. Two arcs are movie retellings, two arcs are generic tournament arcs and the other arc has a story that doesn’t even affect our main cast andends horribly. To be fair, Dragon Ball Z didn’t have brilliant storylines either, they were primarily to set up entertaining fights. But every arc in Z at least had some sort of purpose. None of the arcs in Super have any impact, leave you thinking or wanting to know more. But do the fights make up for the lack of story? I will answer that in the “Enjoyment” section. Art:4.0 / 10 The animation is terribly inconsistent. The first 30-ish episodes look horrible, no other word for it. Many scenes from these early episodes are so badly animated that it put a lot of the community off of watching it any further at all. The animation does become great nearing the very end of the series, but that is only good enough to bring the overall visuals to below average for me. Sound:6.0 / 10 The sound is nothing exceptional. None of the songs were really memorable or exciting to me. The openings were also just something that I sat through because I had to. The action sounds were decent and the voices were fine. Character:0.4 / 10 To me, this is the category where Super completely dropped the ball. Not one of the characters have any sort of development. On the contrary, Goku is suddenly a much bigger idiot than he was before, Vegeta completely degrades to “playing catch-up to Goku” (completely reversing his satisfying character arc from the end of Z) and Gohan cannot be decided on whether he should be a family-man or a badass fighter. All of the established character arcs are discarded and all of the characters become as bland and one-dimensional as possible. Even the character designs were slimmed down and became boring to look at. To me, the way that Super handled its characters made me want to drop the show entirely. Enjoyment:1.0 / 10 I did not enjoy Super at all. On the contrary, Super made me ashamed to be a fan of the Dragon Ball franchise. I envy the people that can look past all of these problems and enjoy Super for the fights. The inconsistent animation, complete disregard for logic regarding transformations and power scaling, the bland characters and the tensionless fights all made it so that I enjoyed absolutely none of it. Overall:2.0 / 10 I’ve made my point. Between the animation, bad characters, illogical writing and lack of story, I cannot honestly describe Super as anything but “horrible”. However, Super became a controversial topic to talk to my friends about, so I could at least take one good thing out of this experience.

What keeps the Dragon Ball series alive is its gigantic fanbase that has developed ever since the 1990's. Dragon Ball Z is perhaps the father of shounen. Although, the amount of popularity for a source of entertainment doesn't necessarily always infer its quality. The more serious of anime consumers have watched hundreds of anime and spent months watching anime. And by spending months, I mean literally 2000+ hours (that would be equivalent to watching anime 3 months straight without eating, sleeping, etc) worth of watching anime. With most of them critiquing anime seriously. By contrast, you have reviewers on here, perhaps having little knowledge ofanime, giving Dragon Ball Super scores of 8/10 or 9/10. Needless to say, it would seem that they're Not dedicated towards fairly comprehending what constitutes something as a great work of art, and that is the process of inflating the value of good anime. By juxtaposition, I would gauge that the overall quality of Dragon Ball Super lies within the bottom third of all anime. There is much to say about Dragon Ball Super. In Universe 7 (where our main characters are from), the fighters gathered for tournaments all come from Earth. The problem is that DBS doesn't feel like a living breathing world. Everything is bent and manipulated to place emphasis on the main cast. And unfortunately, it can't even do that. As we know that the main cast isn't just Goku and Vegeta, but those two are the only protagonists that are viable in battle. It'd be much better... rather than giving characters unreasonable power boosts just so that they can be somewhat relevant to the now immeasurably god-level characters... it'd be much better if Dragon Ball Super decided for moving on to explore potential characters that rival our main protagonists in terms of power and importance, with emphasis on importance. Because while power levels are horrible, yes... at least the saving grace can still be for the characters to be well-written (development, depth, etc). Unfortunately, the writing of characters isn't on the same level as its predecessors. Endearing characters of old from DBZ have lost much of their flare and relevancy. Although I really enjoyed Dragon Ball Z because it had many heartfelt moments (that I could name from the top of my head), Dragon Ball Super doesn't do anything great in its own right. It doesn't become a developed and improved version of its predecessor so that it could in-potential be an epitome of how great the Dragon Ball series is. And unfortunately, as nice as it is to see Goku and Vegeta strive to be the best, I am disappointed that Dragon Ball Super doesn't strive to be its best, if only at what it does.

"Dragon Ball Super - fanmade sequel to Z that completely misses the point of what made DBZ great" - a perfect description. Pros: 1) Super Saiyan God Form (I liked the design, but the way to achieve it is stupid). 2) Music (this is the best thing in DBS. Of course it is worse than the soundtracks from DB-DBZ-DBGT, but still they are cool). Minuses: 1) The original characters were turned into their archetypes (the new characters are completely empty and have no depth). 2) The story is shit (be it arches, plot holes, retcons, etc.). 3) Terrible scenario (the movie Battle of the Gods explained to us how Pilaf's team turnedinto children, but the main series did not? The manga also explained how Seventeen was able to survive after his alleged self-destruction, but the main series did not? Umm... What?). 4) Censorship. 5) All forms (except SSJG) are shit. 6) No voltage. 7) The art style is softened (now it is for children). 8) Disgusting animation. 9) No drama and also bad comedy. 10) Zero fight choreography. 11) Terrible Power Scaling (in DBS it is: A>B and B>C, then A<C). And all this annoyed me for 131 episodes. Conclusion: DON'T WATCH THIS!

Dragon Ball Super makes GT an even better anime. The plot is a complete mess with no logic at all, showing villains that are empty. I wasted my time watching it, they just recycle things and add nothing new or something that is remotely interesting, the plot is hey new enemies just because The animation in the first episodes was really bad, the BSO is okay. Overall I think they just try to squeeze the anime and making it super simply I guess that's why more people like it... If you love Dragon Ball I would highly recommend to avoid it at all cost and pretend thisdoesn't exist

As someone who not unlike many of you, has been a fan of this franchise since longer than I could remember, believe me when I say that all I'm going to bring up here is from a place of love. I also want to say that, in spite of everything Dragon Ball Super was still at least an entertaining experience on some level but I can't use that as an excuse to ignore the disappoinment I've felt continuously with this series time and time again. When we look at the the first 27 episodes of Super, you can pretty much take anything nice I haveto say about the series and put in the dumpster since besides the odd filler episode here or there, their's next to no fun to be had with the retread stories of Battle of Gods and Resurrection F. I understand it was done in order to bridge the gap between the new storylines for those who hadn't seen the movies as well as retcon said movies in some handy ways (like how in this version, Beerus wasn't using any where close to 1% of his power to fight SSG Goku, forget 70%). But there's really no excuse in the world that could make a bad product good and these arcs only serve to fuel the most cynical of views towards a franchise that many would argue past it's prime decades ago. These two arcs were just ugly, slow, and didn't even bother to take the opportunity to fix what issues were already present in the movies. But enough about low hanging fruit, let's look at what happened when Dragon Ball Super set out to do something original. Yes, the Universe 6 arc, the place that myself and likely many others consider the real beginning of Dragon Ball Super, and I'll say, it certainly was an improvement at the very least. Animation-wise it was still incredibly shabby in places and as a tournament arc it didn't exactly have very high aspirations and essentially no stakes. But at the very least we managed to get some actual decent fights in if nothing else, with Goku vs Hit setting the bar far higher than anything to that point. Beyond that we got a brand new storyline featuring everyone's blue(?)-haired time traveler Trunks and his ongoing fight with a now inexplicably evil version of Goku. It's probably the most unapologetically fanfic-ish premise to ever get greenlit that I've ever seen and the way the story bends over backwards to and explain how it all happens doesn't make a lick of sense, even by Dragon Ball standards. Plot-holes and dumb choices by characters are nothing new to the series as anyone whose ever really thought about any these stories for an extended period of time can attest to, but the ones here are incredibly distracting since the arc spends more of it's focus building up a mystery then any others. The ending they opted for with this arc was no less ridiculous and only further cemented this arc as nothing but superficially cool ideas with bafflingly stupid execution. And now we arrive at the Tournament of Power, which by my estimation, was easily the most fun story arc to follow by a country mile. The level of scale and the immediate stakes grab interest from the word "go" and the promise of seeing characters who haven't had anything to do for the longest time get some shine is something that the arc did an OK job of following up on (even if by doing so they managed to cause much confusion with anyone who at all cared about power scaling). I have no doubt that the vast majority of Super's best episodes came from this arc, but that doesn't make the overall structure of this arc good. The set-up for tournament itself was excessive for sure with nearly 20 episodes from the beginning off the arc focused on getting the gang together with not as much time spent on getting to know the other Universe's combatants as their could have been. A missed opportunity to try and get us invested in the stories of these off these other far off places. The actual event itself suffers from how the series rarely does anything interesting with the fact that this is an 80 person Royal Rumble. Sure their's no shortage of teamwork on display, but it never feels as if anything is happening besides the one or two fights that are the focus of the episode, even during many of the earlier episodes. It instead feels like an extended gauntlet match for Universe 7 to grind through. While the first few episodes manage to capture the appeal of what a fight like this could look like, it fizzles out from there. Most of the combatants may as well be sitting around picking their noses for all it matters. The endgame of the entire arc also falls flat thanks to Jiren being a strong contender for the worst antagonist in the entire series, someone who was hyped too soon only to lead to the reveal of a hollow personality/backstory and a lame moveset. Not to mention the transparent way he was made to look villainous when the spotlight was on him merely to make Goku look righteous by comparison, even though good/evil was never supposed to be a factor in a fight between entire Universe at risk of vanishing. I look at his character and see a hole poorly filled for another combatant more deserving, Hit. After all him and Goku already had a fun rivalry set-up between them and what better way to have it settled than on such a grand stage? Instead we got yet another addition in the miles long conga line of antagonists with power dwarfing the last and that's really it. Please note that by pointing out problems here, I'm not suggesting that Z wasn't guilty any of the problems Super had. Not that it should matter either way but I've noticed that a lot fans of Super mischaracterize critics as people who "thought it was OK when Z did it". My point here isn't that Super created many wholely unique problems all on it's own since a good deal of what's wrong here was also an issue with Dragon Ball Z. The problem is nothing resembling what Z at least somewhat competent by today's standards is here beyond some good fights. There are no character arcs here that could hold a candle to what Z did with Vegeta and Gohan (they even went back and made Vegeta Goku's eternal rival again when he already put that part of himself to rest in Z), and besides Goku Black, Zamasu and I suppose Jiren towards the end, their weren't any truly detestable villains whose defeats we could come back each episode to look forward to. I respect how Super goes out of it's way to portray it's characters moreso as normal people during their downtime than Z did with how it shows characters in lifestyles that don't involve fighting for the sake of the planet/Universe but the low-key scenes and episodes only served to make me wish I was watching a chill slice-of-life spin-off than what we ended up getting. This series frustrates me less for how bad it is, and more for how good I wanted it to be.

Plenty of Mary Sue characters and cheap knock-offs from previous works in the series. Some interesting concepts and characters are introduced, but are quickly shoved aside for the next big thing, which makes them feel cheap and of no value. Transformation galore, they felt the need to introduce plenty of transformations, making it feel even cheaper than actually earning their power. Some characters look like they're straight out of someone's Deviant Art gallery, whilst some of the animation make everything look like it was drawn by an intern given 15 minutes to complete the frame. Overall, I feel like Toriyama's previous work was more enjoyable and well produced. Even thoughthey still suffered from flaws, it felt like a more fun and interesting experience than this.

Dragon Ball Super, after a 3-year journey, has finally come to an end. The sequel to one of the most influential and ragingly popular series that captured the world by storm, that made preteens scream and wish they become a super Saiyan and had them do Kamehameha waves during recess hours in school is a show that unfortunately fails to capture the magic of its predecessors and is terribly misguided as to what made Dragon Ball Z such a great show that impacted a whole generation of not only children but also shounen anime in general. Dragon Ball Super's story is flawed and is definitelyone that will not stand the test of time. The first nail in the coffin was definitely that the show was going to adapt the movies that came out fairly recently (2 years before the broadcast started), this obviously didn't sit well with the audience since the new content would take a long time to release. It didn't help that the adaptation was vastly inferior to the movies (obviously) with shameless padding and terrible animation that looked way worse than the franchise's anime debut 3 decades ago, it took a whopping 8 months for the show to get started on any new content. Dragon Ball Super's NEW content was shamelessly unoriginal, 2 of the 3 main arcs were TOURNAMENT arcs, this obviously meant that there'd be no real effort in world-building, what a waste of potential especially since we just now learned that there were 12 universes opening various opportunities for discovery, adventure, and world-building, but now the majority of the show's narrative would be contained in a martial arts arena, SUPER INTERESTING. One of the arcs i.e. the non-tournament arc had considerable hype surrounding it, the Black Goku arc, it had fan-favorite character Trunks make a return and to top it all off the villain was actually Goku, an evil version of him. It also finally made the show feel like as if there would be drastic consequences, real stakes were there and it certainly had a dark tone to it, there was a mystery to uncover, an intrigue as to the identity of this villain and the first parts of the arc were really good in building it up, but unfortunately the story fell flat and the villain, while interesting and empathetic to an extent became a mindless power hungry meathead who wanted world domination. It had a sloppy ending and the story was entirely self-contained with zero consequences to the world, even Trunks didn't care about his world. Coming to characters, Super has a shockingly terrible understanding of them, the show introduced very weak characters that lack motivation and are shockingly generic, while Dragon Ball Z didn't have very complex characters, it nevertheless made them grounded and loveable, introducing characters that were very focused on their ideals, their desires, and motivations. Vegeta's pride and his insecurities led him to become Majin Vegeta and led to a fight that was extremely gratifying and even cathartic, it gave him closure to his insecurities, his insecurities were erased and thus he went on to sacrifice himself to save the world i.e. his son Trunks. Gohan too had a similarly interesting character arc. The reason I'm talking about this is because DBS has severely stunted character growth and hasn't established their driving motivation, all characters are either forgettable or are the same as when they started out. The show is just mindless fighting offering no insight as to the character's ideals with nothing more than a desire to "save their world". Hit is merely reactionary and doesn't have any will of his own making for a very uninteresting character, but honestly, he is by far the best new character of Super which is saying something. And Jiren, ooohhh boii, definitely the worst main antagonist of the franchise if not in shounen history. First of all, he is such an incoherent character, he started off as this self-righteous and almost majestic villain that I'd argue had some depth to him and then BAM he has a backstory that is extremely derivative, shockingly generic and very insulting to the character, because almost instantly he becomes "evil" and says generic evil things like "strength is absolute", "lament your weakness", "friends are useless" and it just totally destroys him and really insults the viewer's intelligence because Jiren finally becomes a generic villain that makes Goku look good rather than someone who was calm, calculating, self-righteous and pursued something "beyond strength". It doesn't help that his design is mediocre and that he looks like Buu in the final episodes. While Super's stories and characters are mediocre at best and insulting at worst, power scaling is something Super seemingly throws out the window making even the notion of Gods ultimately pointless because even normal people like Trunks, Kale and Caulifla master it within minutes to a day and that is insulting and makes for poor, unlikeable characters. I still can't shake off the fact that Goku, someone who has fought the God of Destruction on equal footing and is trained by the even stronger Angel Whis struggles to pummel a Super Saiyan 2 (at best) fusion. It sickens me that that fight even happened for as long as it did. Dragon Ball Super's animation has had a rocky ride, it ranges from shockingly terrible to amazing. There are many standout fight scenes in the show that make these characters move in kinetic and dynamic ways that really make the fights very entertaining to watch however they are few and far in between, most of the show is sloppily done. This show has had a terrible production run, it had no manga to follow so all the stories, character designs and other technicalities had to be made by the animation team themselves which I assume amounted to many problems while making the show and I assume would result in a troubling and hectic production. Honestly, Dragon Ball Super's only redeeming aspect is the fight scenes, they are well done and beautifully choreographed, Ultra Instinct was well done. However there's one really troubling problem here too, it's the overuse of effects, at times the auras just drown out the characters and it honestly looks like 2 balls of fire clashing rather than actual people fighting, it is really annoying since it covers actual real animation. So far there's been a lot of bad things said about this show and while it has been poorly handled it is not without good moments, I actually think that the filler in this show is really entertaining and dramatic and should not be missed because it gives insight into each character's personality and is overall really fun and light-hearted, it had heartwarming moments too. Character interactions are funny and really well handled with a good sense of humor and ridiculous plot lines. It somehow feels good to see the lives of the people who were once part of the main cast, be it Gohan's acting career and cheating scandal, or the baseball match between U6 and U7, it's all fun to watch and weirdly heartwarming. I honestly enjoyed Dragon Ball Super at its best, but there is no denying that this is a flawed show that relies more on hype transformations rather than focusing on fleshing out characters, it's really a pity because the Dragon Ball franchise is something I've loved and cherished for a very long time and resulted in some of my best childhood memories, when Goku first went Super Saiyan I was ecstatic, when Goku fought Majin Vegeta I was shocked and saddened, when Gohan went Super Saiyan 2 I was severely moved by how he let go of his emotions and hesitations to be able to protect his friends, these moments were severely lacking in Super, any semblance of character driven narratives or transformations were entirely non-existent and it's a pity because Super could have easily built on Z's foundation, build on its characters, introduce new and intriguing ones but unfortunately all it learnt was that transformations generate hype and result in selling more merchandise and it has kind of butchered the franchise in my opinion. I know that there are diehard fans of this show who don't mind shallow and mindless fights that need no context but that's not what Dragon Ball was to me and it surely shouldn't have been what Super focused on, it could have learnt and become better and surpassed it, Dragon Ball Z defined shounen, it inspired legendary shows like One Piece and Boku No Hero Academia that built on its formula and pushed shounen forward as a genre but unfortunately Super is severely misguided as to what makes Dragon Ball Z such a generation and genre defining series and has succumbed to using insulting plot devices that make for shallow characters and generic stories. I will never give up on Dragon Ball as a franchise, it's something that I hold close to my heart, I am saddened by how Super has tarnished the franchise but it'd take more than that to destroy Dragon Ball. Here's hoping to a great movie and to an all but confirmed eventual series.

After a long time Dragon Ball finally gained another anime series. The last one, Dragon Ball GT, was an absolute disaster, and Dragon Ball Super, although is better than the first one, is not far in terms of mediocrity. To begin with the first two arcs are merely the repetition of the movies Battle of Gods and Ressurrection of F, but with a terrible animation and a very slow pace. These arcs contrast deeply with the nature of Dragon Ball Z, with a less serious story. This is not necessarily bad, but this was a radical change, not to mention that the characters were infatilizedto fit in this new perspective, in a totally arbitrary way. Vegeta is undoubtedly the most tragic example of this. The change was so radical that there is no more any sense of menace in the anime. Goku, even if he is a funny character, was serious when his friends and the Earth were in danger, not only in Dragon Ball Z, but also in the original series. This problem is present not only in the beginning, but almost in the whole Dragon Ball Super, with the exception of the Black saga. Other chronical problem is the chaos that power levels became. Dragon Ball, since Z, is all about encoutering stronger enemies, training, and then defeat this new enemies. This formula cannot work if the power levels are not clear, and the progression is not logical. This series is completely confuse in regards to this: Goku without any transformation can fight Hit, and Vegeta in super saiyan blue form is easily defeated. This not to mention absurds, like Android 17 that is years without any training, having a power level similar to super saiyan blue(in the android saga he was weaker then Cell, that was weaker then super saiyan 2 Gohan). Some people can argue that these are just small plot holes. The problem is that Dragon Ball Super relies on the formula of surpassing stronger enemies, on superation. This needs clear power level rules to work, or everything will be only arbitrary. Also, the series not only is very bad, but also undermine Dragon Ball Z. Vegeta losed completely his personality, and Freeza, the most iconical villain of the franchise, is turned on a charicature, loosing everything that characterizes him as an incredible antagonist. Talking briefly about the arcs that are not movie adaptations, the universe 6 saga had potencial to have better fights, against more interesting opponents, but had a good ending and a nice final battle. The Black arc had a good idea, but in the end the power levels did not made any sense, and the explanation for the events were filled with plot holes. The final saga, the Universe Tournament, was completely stupid, made no sense, without any sense of danger, character development or anything interesting at all, with the exception of some fights. In conclusion, Dragon Ball Super has a terrible animation, is filled with plot holes, a very slow pace(with even "fillers" in a anime that is not based on a manga), distorts completely iconical characters of the franchise, destroys completely the power levels logic, and lacks any sense of danger and menace, what make the battles void of any type of emotion. However, there is an important positive aspect in the series: Dragon Ball Super is not Dragon Ball GT.

Honestly, I did not watch the anime before that. I intend to read the Classic manga. Dragon Ball was an anime that I appended all of it without watching, but that does not make me able to comment on the work as a whole as if it had that ability. History: Well what to talk about it, only part 2 of the anime there is a story (Arc of the Trunks of the Future), the rest? Not Speaking of this bow, he has a good development of history, well done, without many thefts, that is, it is medium and legal. That simple. Art: Good art, keep what weknow of Dragon Ball, characters with good traits, many people could give a smaller note by preferring the old one, but this does not happen to me. Nothing to complain about about art, note 8! Sound Production: In most anime? Bad, in the Power Tournament? Well done Nothing much and different, just action songs for an anime fight. Characters: My 4th note is only for one character: Zamasu. He was the only personage developed throughout the anime. It was a character with an interesting plot, which combines with Dragon Ball, in addition to a legal development! Only this. Dragon Ball Super is a weak anime, where the focus is on fights, transformations, and the protagonist. Only one bow was decent and well worked, the rest is dispensable for the whole story. As someone said in a review, just take a bow that will not make any difference, I think this is the biggest problem, an anime made to get fans nostalgia, and money, that's all.
