This recap was actually a really good idea on the companies part. Especially considering that the sequel, Chaos;Child, didn't come out until about 8 years after Chaos;Head. I finished Chaos;Head the weekend prior to the release of Chaos;Child so I would be ready for the new season; I did this with a few shows on my to watch list since they were getting sequels this season as well. Even though I recently watch Chaos;Head, it was still nice to have a quick recap of the major events before getting into the new series. Chaos;Head is kind of a confusing series attimes though so this recap may not help everyone remember the important events. I do feel like it lacked some information, specifically a recap on the ending of the series. I'm still giving this an 8/10 because it actually is a really recap to get you thinking about the events that happened in preparation for Chaos;Child. I won't rate this higher than an 8 though because I still feel like it lacked some information as I already said.

What the heck was this? Trying to squeeze an entire visual novel into 12 episodes was one thing but trying to get it all into ONE episode is ridiculous. I has watched the original anime and even I was lost and really confused as to what was going on. My boyfriend, who was watching it with me, was even more confused since he hadn't watched the original. Story: Just setting up the new gen murders, with very little explanation. Art: Was pretty good, but was kinda lifeless at points. Sound: Character: Takumi was a complete shell of his former self. Nothing about him being a NEET,nothing of his delusions, nor his obsession with Seira. Also most of the other characters aren't even in this episode and the ones that are are also shells of their former selves. Enjoyment: Was confused the entire time. Tbh, I actaully recommend just watching the original anime over this special, or better yet play the visual novel. This was just a complete clusterfuck.

Honestly this was a pretty good episode for what it's meant to be, a short recap of Chaos;head so that some of the important events from it are in your mind before seeing Chaos;child, which revolves heavily around the events from Chaos;head. Obviously this recap leaves out a lot, including many characters, di-swords and more. That said, it's a one episode recap. It's not presenting itself as anything else, and it's not meant to retell the entire story of Chaos;head. Because of that, I really don't have that many big problems with it. We all wish it was longer and didn't leave out as manydetails, but no one should really expect that much of it. It's a solid recap that gives most of the information that you really "need" before seeing Chaos;child. For that reason I don't hate this episode at all and I recommend watching it if you want to watch the Chaos;child anime, there's really no downside to it. Obviously if you want the full story for both Chaos;child and Chaos;head just read the VNs though.

This is a recap of Chaos;head to prepare you for season 1 of chaos child. Pacing wise it's a little fast, but it's still closer to a good pace than the original chaos;head. That just speaks to how bad that animes pacing was. Unfortunately this is not a self contained anime. It's only partial retailing, and cuts of before the last 3-4 episodes of the original. That fact means that you do have to go back to re-watch chaos-head which is a sin in and of itself. The things that this anime are good at are the same that it's prequel is. Music and sound aregreat. The idea is a good story, just not put into practice well. What this is and what it's a product of holds it back. If your a stains;gate fan watch it to build on that world out of your love of the show. Otherwise I recommend a skip. This is true for all the chaos line. It's held up by steins gate and a lesser degree robot; and -occult in a marginal role. If you don't like these then enjoy you freedom.
