One word to sum up the film. MID (I promise I tried...) Even though the story was centered around the most interesting characters of the show, the ogres, the film barely touched upon their background. It was very frustrating being shown boring world building of some npc town rather than exploring my kijin waifu's past. Sure it's non-canon, but it would've been amazing if they covered Benimaru and his tribe's history or their adventures, similar to One Piece Film Red. 'Show not tell' was non-existent - it was like taking an exam with the amount of dialogue I was spoon-fed... Wished they trimmed it down a bit.Animation was one of the strong(?) points of the film, but not ground-breaking. It was pretty cool having fights taking place in a castle that closely resembles the one in Laputa making the experience a bit better. The ending... Lets not talk about it... Almost all the characters from season 2 have a bout so overall it's something you won't wanna miss out, but don't expect a masterpiece! :p

it seems there are a lot of upset writers on here but personally I thought it was an amazing movie, there is one thing I agree on tho it did feel like it kept speeding up the pace but it's a movie so at least to me it makes sense they have a designated time slot to fill with the story, and I feel that they did the best with the time they had available. I think most people go into this with the memory of the more well-paced 2nd season but that's a flawed way of looking at it, it's not a season, it'sa movie. with all that said the animation was absolutely stunning and seemed like they may have been paid more for this one. If you're a fan absolutely watch, if you're not a fan go watch the main show first, and if you don't like the show... well I don't know what to say to that...

tl;dr: A pretty generic filler film that’s decent enough. This is a filler film that takes place after the second season of Tensura. As is generally the case with filler films, most everything it introduces will never be seen again after this film. Surprisingly, there was a pretty major exception to that in that this film is the anime debut of Violet, a character that’s pretty important. And I guess this film also somewhat fleshed out Diablo in ways that hadn’t been gone into in the anime yet. However, at the end of the day, the writing has to be careful not to do anything thatwill have any impact on the overarching story so it’s not like it did all that much with them. Tensura is at it’s best when it’s combining lots of intricate plot lines and world building so not being able to actually do anything impactful long term is especially hindering as compared to filler films for other anime like battle shounen. Still, I suppose the plot was pretty good within the scope of what it could do. It was pretty simple, straightforward, and somewhat generic, but it was reasonably enjoyable. It didn’t really do much with any of the main cast other than reinforce some character beats a bit, but it did a pretty good job with the two new characters Hiiro and Towa. They don’t really get character arcs either, but how self-sacrificing they are is enough to hold up their character for the span of a film and build up enough investment in them to give the emotional beats in the finale some weight. Though I feel it would have been better to make their relationship more clearly romantic to add a bit more spice to things. The art and animation for the most part were a bit better than the main series, but not dramatically so. The exception to that was the action which was noticeably much better. None of the new character’s designs really stood out that much, and I feel it was a waste not giving everyone new outfits like filler films often do. The soundtrack was decent enough but not particularly memorable. The ED was the standard film white scrolling text on a black background, but the song was pretty good.

Actually it's a good movie, but it was below my expectation. The premise of the story is good, but how the story executed was not that good. Our tempest main character didn't receive much of screen time, especially for their fighting scene. They were only shown to finish their enemy in a slash, it's too short. But I think that is because the enemies were too weak af. Our beloved rimuru did a lot flexing moment in this movie. I like that. But rimuru didn't use its power that much, yeah because the enemy was too weak. Diablo vs Violet fight scene was boring. It wasvery boring for a fight between two primordial demons. I was expect a more intense fight scene between this two primordials. Imho, this scene should be made more intense. The animation quality is standard. Neither too bad nor too good. Overall this movie is still an interesting movie to watch for me as a tensura fan.

As a big fan of the slime series I had huge expectations for the film but was a little bit disappointed, the animation and the voice acting were all good and you can expect a feel-good anime movie just as always but I expected some excellent story which the film clearly does not provide. The fight scenes of Rimuru were not that good but the fight between Diablo and Violet was certainly an unexpected one, can't wait for season 3 to be animated. Overall apart from the story you can definitely give it a try and it was quite enjoyable

thanks to Crunchyroll/Funimation i just saw the English dub in-theater last night and it was a great movie! :> lucky me, the theater was not even 20 miles away. if i wanna go see SAO Progressive Movie 2 i gotta drive a smidge over 50 miles to see that one. :( art and animation weren't 'anime movie quality' but almost as good as TV seasons 1 & 2... there were a few sketchy places like... really REALLY long shots of 'main cast of characters' that were just 'vaguely' drawn and colored so you could 'kinda sorta' tell who was on-screen... but those shots were mostly cinematicsprawling "environmental richness of the background and foreground artists' skills" shots. the story wasn't bad. ghmm... it wasn't as badly written as 'Rimuru-sensei special OAD episodes' at the Academy with the isekai kids were written. but it was ... ahh... not up to par with the ending half of S2 P2 ... Walpurgis and the War Against Clayman etc. so that will give you a bit of a benchmark for the movie's story in context with the rest of the franchise. sound? not bad! :D the theater i was in had one issue. the music tracks were only playing from 1 or 2 speakers i could hear out of my right ear near the screen. so, no stereo surround sound music. but the rest of the audio: SFX, English dub actors etc. were stupendous! once more, the Funi guys (i stayed for the English credits at the end. Mr. Sabat was the boss and they recorded everybody at his OkraTron 5,000 studios in Texas) were excellent! :D if you can, get your butt in a seat and watch this movie! if you can't, my condolences and i hope you get to watch it online/on-disk/some other way.

Scarlet Bond is a moderately entertaining movie with flashy animation and a subpar plot. It's just mindless fun - there's nothing egregiously bad about it, but your time would probably be better spent doing something else. My main issue is how bland the plot is. The big conflict could have been easily solved if some of the characters were to use their brain or common sense for even five seconds, but for the sake of artificially raising the stakes, they have to follow along with the villain's stupid plans. The new (good) characters are okay - they were occasionally entertaining, and I do like their backstories -though they aren't very memorable or nuanced otherwise. The villain is just annoying. Without spoiling details, the end of the story also has these two "gotchas" that kind of make you feel cheated of a more emotionally impactful ending - you'll know what I mean. So, don't go into this movie expecting a revolutionary story. You can still expect to see some cool fight animations, and of course, Rimuru and the whole gang being badass for brief yet cathartic moments. But that's about it.

Somehow slow and rushed at the same time. The first half hour tries to establish the new characters, but their motivations are one-dimensional and predictable. There's so much exposition that Rimiru even jokes about there being an info dump on top of another info dump. The villain is super hammy and never conveys much of a threat. His motivations are also contrived and not very clear. Once the action starts it's pretty decent. There's a chase scene that looks very good on the big screen and one fight with Diablos that looks good, but most of the fighting ispretty predictable. The good guys annihilate the bad guys. The conclusion is unsatisfying with multiple unnecessary asspulls for us to arrive at the "happy ending."

This movie is in no way perfect but for this specific movie I have to give it a 10/10. They had to make a movie cannon while maintaining relevance to the main storyline while also making sure it was ok for people to watch the third season of Tensura without missing knowledge? They somehow did it and they did it great. A quick synopsis is that Benimaru and the other ogres meet up with their long lost friend. The friend is working for a neighboring kingdom who is having issues. While this seems very simple it is complex in the sense they managed to tiethis into the main storyline yet maintaining the fact that the movie is not necessary. You don't have to watch this movie, but I did not expect for me to feel so emotional about this movie. Whether the characters and their actions made me angry, sad, or happy every twist was well enjoyed 10/10. Additionally if you want to watch this movie solely for the extra information it is important as it introduces many canon characters who will be crucial down the line. Authors Note: Sorry for the long break in reviews. I needed time for myself and will be back more frequently.

Rimuru was really cute here, but story is really dragging it down. Especially the ending where asspull after asspull happens and yes i do mean even more of them than is normal for anime and it is like next tier of asspulling that does say "no asspulling will be asspulled" and then asspulling happens and helps in asspulled ways. Sad moments ended up being completely comical because of this. I ended up giggling when another tragic thing happened knowing what is going to happen next. And the power scaling made it really weird and unbelievable, so the ubergod rimuru in this movie can eatsun, summon and command equivalent of god, teleport army but at the same time can not walk faster than me (and i'm not walking champion) or catch up to normal railcart. We are talking about character that uses teleport every few minutes in the series(and here too) can fly faster than u can see and stuff like that. I do not know if he is meant to be portrayed as the actual villain in this story that watches suffering for fun, but it gave away that exact impression. You know those animes where there is god-tier character that can wink to destroy moon and fart to recreate universe (highschool misfits) that hide their powers to stay anonymous. Well this was much like it, except there is just no motivation behind hiding his powers, only plot convience after plot convience. He does reveal his power level twice and even tells people that he is demon lord now, so truly that has nothing to do with it. There was not even attempt at something like "uh oh the teleportation magic really drained me, i lost 99.999% of my power and now i reach maximum speed of crawling grandma" Or "uh oh he has kryptonite" even something as old as superman at least tried to pull out some explanation behind those events. This story did not even try to make any sense. This next point is not super important but does tie in with the power-level indecisiveness and plot convience: Rimuru also has those full heal potions in this movie he is holding them in his hand at one point, but for some reason gives people honey instead that barely recovers them after 2 months of eating it, but i could at least make up some explanation for that, for example that honey is antidote that also slowly heals and ehm for some reason antidote+full heal would cause negative effects. Which makes no sense but lets just say that is magic. But in fact that was the case just so some scenes can happen at all. Which has the simplest solution: do not show the full heal potions in the movie, the potion did not even get used so showing it was not needed for story. Lets say that you get poisoned in game, full heal potion heals u to 100% but you are still poisoned, and that is fine but it DOES heal you to 100% first. So healing quickly instead of slowly would not change the plotdevice that was used to cause this situation. It just made rimuru look like villain again, offering just the bare minimum to help people which is theme of this whole story. If i was to bring up what he can do in the anime series or manga, i'd spend next 3 days writing this review. You can isolate this movie as its own thing and use only what is in it and it still makes 0 internal sense and offers no explanation for anything. It was still really cute and entertaining if you are willing to turn off your brain completely, so I leave it with rating of 7. Sound was good, animation was good, rimuru was cute and i really like rimuru and rimuru was quite cute.

Tensura Movie: Guren no Kizuna-hen is a movie that gives a refreshing feeling since it's been a while, right? Tensura is porbably released next year and this movie can be a remedy for that. I would like to just point out the ending scene on this anime. Everything, from the beginning, how the story develops from the flashback an ogre that somehow evolves to be a Kijin, pretty much on par with all kijins under Rimuru's wing, feels right. This can be a very enjoyable movie if it shows the scenes, even as a flashback, on how Violet, as one of the Primordials, puts that cursed tiarato Towa's ancestor, and it is inherited to her. When watching this, I have been wondering that thing, since the anime series apparently goes on that very same lines, and even the skillsets are explained in detail, so it's a bit sad to miss such thing. Moreover, the way rimuru cleans out the curse on the lake, even examines Towa queen are just pretty much "Rimuru-rashi", so it's perfectly okay. What I find confusing and it definitely gives bitter taste is the way the Kijin dies, the Towa queen releases her power, she dies, then the goddess, Violet, "apologizes and thanks her for all the fun througout the days" and revives. This is a movie, completely detached from the series, so it's perfectly fine if the queen or the kijin dies, for the sake for sacrifice. Unless you're going to use these characters in the future episodes of Tensura series. I was expecting either one of them, the Kijin or queen Towa, to join Rimuru, had one of them died. But, no! The director apparently tried to push out the "no, no one would die. if she dies, someone will revive her, and then everything will be living happily ever after" mindset that the ending just doesn't feel right for me. I would give 9 had one of them died and then the rest joined Rimuru in Jura.

Scarlet Bond is a pretty good movie that mostly contains events that happen after season 2 part 2 of That time I reincarnated as a slime. It introduces a new kingdom and a few new characters. The story in the movie is good. It's not perfect but it's genuinely interesting and follows the second season so it's a nice continuation. During the story a new kingdom is mentioned and new characters are introduced so it feels like the story adds to the worldbuilding of the anime overall. There does seem to be some pretty major deus ex machina in the movie which can be seenas negative especially since it seemed avoidable. There are a few new characters in this movie that are pretty interesting but there's not much character development to speak of. Diabolo played a bit more of an active role in this movie which was a pleasure to see. The animation was okay overall, it was nice and dynamic with the same style as the anime. There are a few standouts scenes with more impressive animation as well. The sound was great and the voice acting was really nice with the same voice actors as the anime. Overall this is a great movie with an interesting story and cool new characters. The execution doesn't seem perfect and the deus ex machina feels unnecessary but overall it's still lots of fun to watch. Definitely worth watching for anyone who has watched up to season 2 part 2 of the anime.

TLDR: If you enjoyed the anime, you’ll enjoy this movie. While many anime franchise tie-in movies tend to feel separated and irrelevant to the main series, this movie feels organic in ways many others fail. It truly feels like a mini-arc that could've been in the anime all along, and a fairly fun one at that. For one, watching Rimuru and the gang deal with the events that unfold with their familiar antics and catchy chemistry is just as fun to watch as it is in the anime. Without the need for a reintroduction, characters from the anime pop up left and right, getting ample screen timeto appease all their fans. The setting and conflicts also feel like they belong in the world of Tensura, helping to deny the “irrelevant” marker found in similar movies. While the plot isn’t as heavy as season 2, it serves nicely in a movie format and makes for an entertaining watch. Especially when that’s accompanied by the amazing animation dotted all throughout the movie. In my mind, this movie manages to encapsulate everything that makes Tensura enjoyable in a movie format, and I’m all here for it.

I'm not saying that the storytelling is weightless, but at the end, I felt like nothing happened here. Looking back at the past two seasons, it's all the same as the movie. Nobody can die, there is no real change in any character, and there is no character regression in the second season. The only thing that's certain is that enemies become friends. There is no betrayal, no main enemy to challenge them. The only challenging moment was when the Falmuth kingdom attacked Tempest with Clayman. They were overwhelmed, Rimuru was nowhere to be found, and everyone in the city was killed. Okay, berserk mode, then a massacre. But this "bringing them back from the dead" thing is just violence. It's like they don't want to eliminate the character from the show, just like when Brian died in Family Guy, but the fans pressured them to bring him back. Otherwise, if the character didn't die and was just missing for three episodes, no one would notice because they are insignificant, just like Shion. They are not memorable characters, more like a joke. They could have easily been written out of the story. And then, they bring them back... The movie is the same. A character dies, and they bring them back. Another character dies after two minutes, and they bring them back also. There are no consequences, no losses, nothing to avenge, no personal involvement. It's not a bad series, but it makes everything flat and predictable.

Although i enjoyed the film, i feel like the story should have shown more about the kijin's home and backstory. For example a short timeskip of them growing up from kids to when Hiiro said he left to become a mercenary. This is my own opinion but i believe Violet should have come to save Towa where the others could see her as well and not as a ball of light, though the ball of light did make her seem more of a goddess and not a demon. Even though the main story is about Rimuru i enjoyed that in the way of fighting ibelieve that the fights between Benimaru and Hiiro (rage-mode) and the fight between Violet and Diablo was really well animated. I do hope that in season 3 we get to see Rimuru and Violet meet face to face.

I watched this movie in theatres, and for a first time watching anime in theatres, I found it quite pleasant. However, I will say that my score of 7/10 comes most likely due to how Rimuru and Diablo-deprived I've become, so I was content just being able to see new content. Realistically, the movie is a 6. The action was a bit lacking imo, the events are SUPER plot convinient, and I feel overall although I welcome it, this movie was completely unnecessary. I believe you have to be a Tensura fan to enjoy this. Even then, it's still nothing exceptional. Overall though, I did verymuch enjoy it and don't have many complaints.

Slime really doesn't do itself justice by releasing short arcs. This movie isn't bad, but it's nothing to write home about. It spends over an hour for set up, which I was enjoying, but then it went into its finale, and by the end of it, I'm sitting here thinking I watched a Disney movie with 4 happy endings. I don't know why they did the ending the way they did, without spoiling, I'll just say, there are countless ways this should have ended. There aren't any spectacular fight scenes, the best fight scene happens in the first 30 minutes ofthe film. To me this just missed the mark. If you want to make a movie, then take examples like Dragon Ball Super Broly and Mugen Train and see that what made those popular are the fights, animation of those fights, and the hour-long fight scenes. Thats what people want to see. Animation 9/10 - Pretty good all around, but fight scenes are bland. Sound 8/10 - Decent BGM, but nothing that jumps at you. Story 6/10 - Pretty weak at best, I won't spoil, but I feel there are holes in the story when we speak of Violet, who is the reason why this storyline exists. Character 7/10 - Rimuru takes a back seat to Hiiro, and many of the main cast are damn near absent. Hiiro is pretty mid to be honest, not to mention, a simp, and the logical ending scene isn't performed, because his character is so weak throughout. Enjoyment 6/10 - Slime is my favourite isekai, but this was mid. Recommended to Slime completionists. Everyone else can skip this.

Pretty good movie. Actually a 10 for me. It has given us an insight into the other Primordial Demons and how Rimuru will encounter them. More over, I love Toa. Shes an exceptional character that excels at her role as the queen. The battle scenes were flashy and I love how Hiro and Toa were willing to sacrifice themselves for each other. Truly how a character should act. Milim was still cute and overzealous at the same time. I wish Veldora had more screen time though. Same goes for Diablo. I wanted them to display their strength the more. In that case, I suggest everyone watches it.Its an awesome movie with great suspense and beautiful character development. Truly worth the hype.

This movie just squanders its potential even though it has an interesting premise. The animation is serviceable but certainly not on par with sao progressive, mugen train or even the recent my hero academia movies. Rimuru did not really have anything interesting to do and the powers that he acquired in season 2 wasn’t shown that much because the villain was weak af. If u like this series u probably will watch it regardless of this review and u might have fun but ultimately my expectation for a non canon movie is that it atleast can provide cool moments and good fan service(fight scenes, powers, etc) and thismovie did not provide enough of that.

Story (6): The story is okay, in my opinion before watching vision of coleus and season 3 so as not to miss much. But yeah the story is okay, there's nothing hype or really special. But I also like tempest working with the new kingdom. Because there's an important scene that might be in Vision of Coleus or Season 3. Here also the villain isn't that strong rimuru can also defeat him easily so yeah nothing much Characters (7): Here there are several new characters from the Kingdom of Kings. The protagonist is okay, but the villain is just a subordinate who wants to destroy this kingdom. butthere is one villain whose scene is very lacking so I don't know that much. But the main villain of the underlings clearly shows his motto Vision (8): Visual is awesome and animation is okay. but because the role is small and ordinary so it's not too tremendous or goosebumps. But overall nice Audio (8): Sound effects are nice, voice actors are nice, sound effects are nice and the soundtrack is just okay
