I seriously have no idea who this was made for. I feel like it was specifically made to cater to people who have already swore off on never watching One Piece because of how long it is. And yet, those people still can't watch this as their introduction to the series, since this arc takes place in the middle of the entire series which means you still gotta watch the first 516 episodes that came before it to understand what the heck is going on. And even still, the pacing is TOO fast now to where you can barely keep up with whats on screen.Some footage looks flat out sped up, character interactions and story beats sometimes don't make sense because of context that was trimmed out, which I'm guessing they just assumed the people who've already seen this arc in full would just fill in the gaps on their own. But then that begs the question, once again. WHO WAS THIS MADE FOR!? Yes, I know this was made to give both Oda and the anime team time to prep for the final saga (which I still can't believe is finally happening) and this was just a nice extra to tide us over so we weren't without something to watch for 21 weeks. And yes, the new animation is spectacular, especially in comparison to the original episodes. But every single other thing about this edited arc was a downgrade in every single way. One Piece is long for a reason. It takes the time it needs to tell it's story. You simply have to be ok with that. Trust the process and enjoy the journey, rather than trying to look for shortcuts in getting caught up just so you can be watching something you deem to be "relevant". Just watch One Piece. Just try. The only thing stopping you is your own excuses. I promise you that any attempt at cutting corners in the journey will only serve to sully your overall experience. Just take a chance in starting, and keep moving at a steady pace. You'll be so much more thankful that you did. 5/10

I'm aware and that my opinion is gonna be in the minority here but I don't think this deserves a level of hate it received Sure they cut some stuff out and it 100% isn't perfect but I'd still say that all of the majorly important story stuff and all of the important actions scenes are here, It's still all mostly here just cropped a bit You should definitely still rewatch the original over this but for a rewatch if you haven't seen the Fishman island arc, This is definitely for you I'd rank this a solid 7/10 nothing groundbreaking, The animation is a bit nicer in myopinion though

I'm really glad that Toei made the choice to remaster and release an abridged version of the Fishman Island arc. It was great to revisit the things that I forgot over the years and also see my favorite moments again. One thing I really appreciated about this version that by speed it up a bit, it made the pacing nicer and it got rid of the places that moved too slowly in the original version of the anime. However, there were times where things sped by a little too fast and I think maybe they need an extra episode or two to make the partsthat went a little two fast feel like they were paced better. That said, it still of course contained the pros and cons of the original version, but that was expected. I hope in the future we might see other longer arcs revisited in this format rather than trying to do something "An episode of Skypiea" that ended up making everything move so fast that it felt a little pointless and lost in the chaos. If you liked the Fishman's Island arc, this is worth checking out especially if it's been some years since you last watched it. If you aren't a fan of One Piece when it starts cutting stuff for time, then you might want to skip this special revisit.

Oh boy, this 6 months break will be remembered, if not for the void us One Piece fan felt with minimal One Piece content, it would be for the fact that we were gifted a remastered version of the Fishman Island arc, in the Wano style. So many fans watered their mouths over this one when it was first announced, remastering none other than the cluster mess that was the Anime adaptation of Fishman Island, no other arcs needed a refresher more than this one. I guess, we can only get so high, huh. The remaster was NOT all roses and flowers, it started pretty hype andpromising, yes, but then, the half-baked edits were getting too frequent, hard cuts, non syncing sound cuts and way too fast pacing. yes, complain about fast pacing in One Piece, and with Fishman Island nonetheless. It was truly a bizarre case of Monkey’s paw. This is definitely a celebratory edition not meant for first-timers, and more so for marinated old fans who are asking for more. Overall: 7.3/10.

One piece is just an amazing anime, no matter what arc I cry at least once. I know I don't speak for everyone but this anime will until I die hold dear to my heart. The anime always throws you for a loop and the from episode one not just this arc but the very first episode starts childish but that's the nostalgia and fun side then it ramps up and never lets go, the art is beautiful, the characters are unique, the serious moments draw you in feeling personal and making you wish you was there ( almost like a movie theater, very cinematic)the only difference between this and other shows, movie, anime, etc it doesn't draw me in like one piece. Making me forget time, and reality. I thank my creator Im able to enjoy this masterpiece and when it's over I will cry and gather the show from start to finish to pass down. 🙏
